The consistent downturn in all aspects of life in our beloved Zimbabwe over the years constantly provoked passionate discussions amongst a group  of friends. These discussions gradually led to the group’s determination to orchestrate a means of playing a meaningful role in turning Zimbabwe’s fortunes around.

This gave birth to the idea of forming a political party, an idea mooted in 2009 in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 2015, consultations began on a broader basis among very committed and patriotic citizens, both  in Zimbabwe and in the diaspora. Most of the actual, lengthy, process took place in the diaspora. A five-member committee of interim leaders spearheaded the creation of the party’s constitution. In 2020, the National Alliance for Development (NAD) was formed.
The Party, with its headquarters in Harare, was officially recognised by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) on 13th January 2020.
